At the ballpark the Detroit Iron Gloves easily handled the Chicago Colts by
the score of 12 to 8.
Detroit took the lead for keeps in the 7th inning when they tallied 2 runs on
3 hits. Detroit bats were very productive in the 5th inning when they had 3
runs on 5 hits and the 9th inning which saw them plate 3 runs on 4 hits.
This was the kind of game that many fans love as the lead changed hands 5
times.
John Lackey(5-3) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 8 runs for the win. Brian
Fuentes was credited with his 4th save. Julian Tavarez(2-2) ended up with
the loss in relief.
